ok so everyone knows the famous movie exorcist... and i'm sure everyone who knows me, knows i'm an athiest.
so it's very hard for me to swallow the fact that people believe that they're possessed by evil spirits and even harder for me to believe that there's an invisible man who lives in the sky and if you break his rules you're going to hell.
i'm watching tyra banks this morning and the topic is "exorcisms performed on gay people to rid them of the evil spirit"
i can't make this shit up... even if i tried. maybe i'm biased because i have a gay uncle, and because i truly believe being gay is genetic... and not the fault of an evil spirit possessing someone to live a gay lifestyle.
what the fuck is wrong with people? religious people i mean... i am almost convinced that people who are "fanatics" about religion are in fact sick with mental illness.
religious people are some of the most hateful, bigoted and racist people on the planet... and i'm pretty sure that's not what "god" intended in his teachings....
more and more i think people are fucking crazy.

headaches
i've been getting a lot of headaches lately... maybe it's a brain tumor... or more probable.. i haven't been sleeping and eating properly.
i picked up an overtime nightshift last night on four hours sleep, and managed to get about 3 hours sleep today...
i'll be in bed early tonight though, i'm working 7am to 7pm all weekend starting tomorrow.
other than working and visiting ross, i've been spending a lot of downtime by myself. i have made a new friend (i sound like i'm in grade school) from work. she's cool and gets my warped sense of humor. it's nice to have another friend in town.. most of my friends are out of town..
and speaking of which, i can't wait until monday when i get to go and see jess and the kids, and then to kitchener to see laura and her brood.
wish i had more time to visit them, but with being full time and having a boyfriend who lives in the opposite direction it makes it hard. at least we keep in regular touch with each other.
it was really hard as a kid moving every year and having to start over and not having a true friend you've known for a long time and who "gets you". i'm really proud to say that despite distance, jess and i have been friends for over 10 years and laura for over 8... that's an accomplishment for me.
now that i'm old and wise i know the true value of a friend and just try to be the best i can. i may not be spiritual or in touch with a lot of shit, but i do believe in karma...
not sure if this post has any real purpose or even makes sense, but i can always blame it on lack of sleep.

new things
so i'm settling nicely into my new job... the staff are pretty cool. i've already made a friend.. and hilarious enough her name is amanda... and her last name starts with B...
so i'm gonna call her amanda number 2...
i'm clickity clacking away on my my other new thing... a macbook which i bought myself cuz my old old old pc is a piece of crap and this is the first real treat i've bought myself. well besides my car. the car is a necessity, the laptop... is just awesome.
ross had his doubts when i told him how much it cost, but after a weekend of tinkering with it, he thinks its pretty damn cool too.
it's going to take me awhile to become accustomed to the the mac os... pretty different from the pc. and way cooler. they say once you go mac you never go back, and i'm inclined to agree.
here's some pics i took

isaiah has a flare doesn't he? lol, kids grow up way too fast.

this is a day late, and everyone already knows the news thanks to text messages and facebook, but i found out yesterday i got the full time job on geriatric psych at MHS.
i start aug 4th and already have my schedule up until the middle of september. so many hours to work makes me a very very happy woman.
that is all.

things are looking optimistic on the job front. i had my interview on wednesday and they've already checked my references... my supervisor and my former manager (who is now administrative lead for the hospital) both called me at home to tell me they gave me glowing references.
they also said they didn't want me to leave but with no prospect of becoming full time in my current workplace, they understand my need to move on.
so i'm crossing everything that can be crossed, and hope to hear some good news tomorrow or tuesday...

a couple of weeks ago the whole family went to the zoo for hunter's 7th birthday. i wasn't able to go because i had to work. my sister sent me some pictures and i had to laugh at some of the faces hunter was making.
he also got to meet some belleville bulls and took some pics with the mascots. i wonder if he realized he was holding up a "loser" sign??
