had a busy couple of days at work.. which is now weird to say because psych nursing isn't really physically busy.. it's more mentally draining than anything... but we've had a few very sick ppl...
h1n1 negative thankfully.. we had one confirmed case who was shipped out and luckily no one else became sick...
this morning though i have a sore throat and a runny nose... GREAT!! ross was coming down with a cold when i was there on the weekend so i've more than likely caught it from sucking face with him. LOL.
what one does for love eh?
Halloween was good... not great... but good. Isaiah has a bit of a phobia of all things that go bump in the night so actually convincing him to go up and knock on doors for candy was a bit taxing.. but we made it through. we went around to doors that weren't decorated too scary and he was satisfied with what he got.
when i was a kid... it was a race to see how much candy you could get and we would fill pillowcases and sometimes more...
i don't see the same amount of excitement on kid's faces either.. they walk slow... no pushing, no running... guess trick or treating is not a competitive sport anymore!
so i have two days off... laundry and groceries to do (always) and i have to make an appointment to take my car in to get the headliner replaces because it's peeling off... they don't make cars like they used to.. i hope it's not a sign of things to come. i've already replaced the windshield and had a stone chip repaired... and now the headliner...
why don't people take pride in their work and make things that last? why are we such a disposable society? i don't get it.. with the environmental issues we have... lets just make a car that lasts 5 years if you're lucky then throw it in a heap!!
changing gears.... i just bought a new album by pete yorn and scarlett johansson called break up.... and i love it! i turned my nose up at first because like most people i don't take actresses who try and make a music career very serious and vice versa.. but i really liked the album.
ok i've blabbered enough... time for another coffee and some music to get me motivated to get off my ass and get some errands done.

apparently Scarlett Johansson released an album on Tom Waits covers last year. that should be interesting.
i know what you mean about the Hallowe'en thing, it seems it's aimed more at the adults nowadays.

Yeah, my nephew (nicholas) wanted to be a pumpkin and things have been so rough for him lately, I wanted to fulfill the wish for him, but no pumpkin costume seemed to be the one he wanted,so he went as Darth Vader. he had a serious phobia about wearing a mask!! but eventually, they popped the eyeball parts off the mask so he agreed. I think he mostly wanted the light saber.
I remember halloween being fun. No kids came to my house this year. I used to love kids coming and they always loved Marble. Looking forward to that when I get back!
maybe we should rent a house with adjacent apartments or something *grin*
