well i'm feeling better. still have a loose cough, but it's nowhere near as bad as it was a few days ago..
i still have some muscle aches but i think it's more from laying around than anything else.. that and i think my pillow topper on my bed throws my spine out of whack.
i'm whining again.
i'm spending the weekend at home in the hopes that work calls me in for some overtime to make up for the shift i lost when i was sick.
i talked to my nephew hunter last night and i might take a drive to see him this afternoon after his hockey game.
some of the things he says still make me laugh....
i asked him if he'd like for me to come and visit him and he replied..
"that would be nice"... haha, so grown up at 6 1/2.. i expected him to say "sure" or "ya"
i still laugh when i think back a few months at his reaction to a couple of teenagers making out outside a movie theatre.. he turned to me and said "sheshe that is so unpropriate!"
so true! and so funny.
anyhow, gonna wrap this up and go have a shower and get dressed. hopefully the snow holds off until after my visit.

i have the flu....
i haven't felt this shitty in a few years. my body aches, i have the chills and then hot flashes, my right ear is aching and i have a harsh cough accompanied with what seems like non stop headaches..
i have slept 20 of the last 24 hours and i'm pretty sure i'll be heading to bed again in the next half hour... the good news is i managed to get to the grocery store about an hour ago to get some necessities... gingerale, crackers, soup, and some instant oatmeal...
i called in sick to work tonight.. there was no way to make it in, plus the last thing anyone at work needs is to be around someone who's as sick as i am.
so i slept all day, and i'll be going back to bed very very soon.
hopefully this illness fucks off very soon. i don't do sick very well. i'm a big baby.

blah
the title of this post doesn't reflect my current mood in any way, it's just that i find it very mundane thinking of a title when all i really do is just type as i think of shit to say, and i don't ever premeditate what i'm going to write about.
so there.
well, i went to visit the parents today, debbie and i went for a drive to belleville just for something to do, and to get her out of the house. i'm sure dad enjoyed a couple of hours to himself as well.
he came over to my place for a coffee earlier last week and vented a bit about the new living situation. i knew something was up when he called me that he was in town because he's only been over a couple of times since i moved in last april.
apparently debbie's mom is staying with them for the first month or so since debbie coming home from the hospital permanently. dad is working and needed someone to be at home with debbie to help with transferring out of the wheelchair and making meals and keeping her company... at least for the first little while.
things aren't going very well. debbie (whom i give much credit) while being physically unable to meet all of her needs, still has all her mental faculties. she can be slightly impulsive with her movements or while eating/drinking, but overall, has great judgement. her mother on the otherhand, has accidentally dropped debbie out of her wheelchair onto the floor not once, but twice...
she's also left the stove on for hours and while driving has made debbie extremely scared of being in the car with her...
debbie told me today it's as if she is babysitting her mother... and debbie is the one with the disability!
long story short, deb's mother is stressing dad out. he's afraid of leaving deb home with her, and while he's home, she's completely getting on his nerves.
i don't mean to discredit her in anyway, she is truly a sweet lady who means well... she just has some signs of senility that worries me.
i suggested to debbie that she not go driving with her anymore, and we'll see what happens over the next month, and see what kind of plan dad has once deb's mom leaves. i don't think they'll be getting much homecare, but i believe dad is going to start working more nights so that deb is only alone while she's sleeping.
she still gets teary when we talk about normal stuff that she can't do anymore... we were talking about dad coming over for coffee, and she started to cry and said "i guess it will be a long time before i can come visit" considering i live on a 3 story walkup with no elevator....
it's the simple things like being able to climb stairs that i think she misses the most.
so that's it for now... nothing much else new around here.
i'm enjoying my new car now that my windshield is replaced, and taking every chance i can to go for a ride... and working, and spending time relaxing on my down time.

i had another great weekend in ottawa with ross and isaiah, however i was a bit of a baby monday morning when i had to leave and got a little emotional.
this long distance stuff is getting to me. although i'm dealing with it better now than i was in the beginning.
now that i have a brand new car, trips up to ottawa will not worry me.
although... my brand new car does have a cracked windshield. it happened friday night while ross and i were driving to his parents for a visit.
i took it back to the dealership, and the manager of the service dept said i had stone chips and there was nothing they could do. i would have to pay to have it replaced. however, i ran into the sales manager and he got me a great deal. the dealership is covering $100, and the actual glass place is covering another $150.... so i only have to pay $50 out of pocket for a new windshield....
i really wish the dealership would have just paid for the replacement but something is better than nothing.
i put up a couple pics of the car (still unnamed) on facebook. and i got her an mp3 player as a gift... nothing but the best for my new baby.
it's pretty cool, the new car has a usb port in the dash... i've never seen one of those before.
anyhow, i'm off for a few days and don't plan on doing much other than bumming around my place and maybe doing some chores.
i've been watching tv and downloading music for the last few hours. life is hard.

I've made up my damn mind
I've decided to buy a new car. Hopefully everything works out in my favour and i manage to get a good deal... with all the car companies struggling, i'm sure to get a discount, or at the minimum a cheap interest rate...
i've enjoyed not having a car payment for the last year but not enjoying all the repairs (no matter how cheap) as they are quite inconvenient and annoying.
so, it looks like i'll be shopping around for a 2009 Chevy Cobalt in either a silver or gray colour, and shopping around for cheaper insurance! it's a good thing i have all this week off....
who knows, i could be driving a new car by the end of the week.
crossing fingers.
